Workshops, Continuing Education and Public Awareness

Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is key to effective daily planning, intervention and achieving maximal success in academic, social, personal or productivity outcomes. On The Spectrum Therapy Services aims to provide individuals, families and communities with education that is insightful, meaningful and practical when working and living with persons on the autism spectrum.  CJOB 680AM has interviewed Tamara Rogers to promote public awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the challenges that families face in daily living.

Firsthand accounts of personal experiences with ASD are injected into the presentations with warmth and humor. Presentation attendees will complete the sessions having greater knowledge, insight and compassion in supporting persons with ASD.

Presentations are tailored to the specific educational needs of the audience and can be scheduled as  half- or full-day(s) depending on the desired content.  Weekend workshops are available upon request.

Common presentation requests include:

1)  Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including updates from the DSM-V

2)  Managing Challenging Behavior in ASD

3)  Understanding Sensory Processing Issues and ASD

4)  Toilet-training and ASD

5)  Maximizing Sleep and ASD

Workshops and presentations have been provided to various organizations including the Manitoba Teachers (SAGE Conference), the Manitoba Resource Teachers’ Association and school divisions across Manitoba.
