Tamara Rogers, B.M.R. (OT), the owner of On The Spectrum Therapy Services, is a bilingual (French/English), Triple P Accredited, registered and licensed occupational therapist with over 20 years of clinical practice providing assessment, treatment and consultation to clients across the lifespan. She is also a Masters (Candidate) student at the King’s College London, England in the Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health program.
As a mother of twins with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a clinician in the field of Autism, the combination of real-life experience and therapeutic know-how make her services one-of-a-kind, intuitive and professionally grounded.
Learning innovative and best practices, and sharing knowledge to improve independence in clients’ lives has always been an important aspect to Tamara’s professional practice. Her desire to teach resulted in her participation in the Faculty of Medicine in two universities (University of British Columbia, School of Rehabilitation Sciences and University of Manitoba, School of Medical Rehabilitation). Tamara facilitated hands-on learning for occupational therapy and physiotherapy students in coursework including: Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology, Problem-Based Learning, Integrating Research into Clinical Practice, and Autism Spectrum Disorder lectures. Tamara has also provided lectures for the Winnipeg Technical College’s Rehabilitation Assistant Program teaching the mental health core lectures.
Living, breathing and functioning in a world of autism is something Tamara experiences daily with her twins. A natural thirst for evidence-based knowledge and an enthusiastic desire to find effective and practical strategies became a priority for Tamara in raising her twins.
As an experienced clinician with a love of neurology and mental health she is able to swiftly and accurately assist clients in finding solutions to challenges. Her devotion to being a creative and dedicated mother of children with autism means that Tamara never loses sight of the realities and the practical life tasks that require assistance, shaping, reinforcement and support for persons with developmental disabilities.
